APPLICATIONS OF INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS

May 9 and 11, 2007, Ljubljana

As the first activity of the EU Project entitled TransSLO – “Support for Sustainable Transport research in Slovenia” within the sixth Framework Programme, The Electrotechnical Association of Slovenia is organizing the 15th International Symposium on Electronics in Transport – ISEP.

It is traditional event, organised every year. The underlying theme of the Symposium will be for the fourth time “Intelligent Transport Systems – ITS”. With the support of the TransSLO project for transport, this year will have an extra focus on the EU aspects of ITS research such as involving participants in  EU Projects in the field of ITS in ISEP. ISEP 2007 will involve a research day, encouraging students and researchers at universities within Slovenia, other new member states, accession states and nearby countries to undertake post graduate transport research and to present their work at the conferences.

The symposium promotes the strategic objective of integrating and strengthening the European Research Area in Slovenia as well as in the new member States, Accession States, and in some nearby countries in the thematic area of   Sustainable Transport.

By strengthening contacts between experts and by organisation of information exchange, active participation in shaping and implementation of national policies, in implementing the European Transport Policy and for participating in EU projects within the 7th FP will be encouraged. ISEP 2007 aims at the improvement of co-operation and networking capability of the surface transport research community, making it more prepared for co-operation at the European level. The aim is also to encourage full PhD participation.
